Selection for budget subsidy for keeping cows starts in Ukraine

On May 20, the State Agrarian Register will start the selection of applications for receiving a special budget subsidy for the maintenance of cattle (cows) of all areas of productivity. About this informs Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.
The size of the subsidy will be UAH 7,000 per head for owners of 3 to 100 cows, regardless of their productive direction. Support is provided in accordance with the Procedure for using state budget funds to support farms and other producers of agricultural products, approved by Resolution No. 918 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated August 16, 2022.
The ministry clarified that in 2025, only those farms that did not receive similar support in 2024 can apply for such a subsidy. For last year’s recipients, the relevant directions in the State Agrarian Register will be unavailable.
We will remind that on April 29, the government decided to launch a program to support agricultural producers engaged in cotton cultivation. A payment of 10,000 hryvnias per hectare of crops is foreseen. The program covers three regions: Mykolaiv, Odesa and Kherson. The initiative is aimed at stimulating the development of light industry and strengthening the country’s defense capabilities.
In addition, in April, payments of a special subsidy for the total amount of UAH 386 million to support animal husbandry began. Thanks to the program of partial compensation (25%) of the cost of Ukrainian agricultural machinery, agricultural enterprises purchased more than 6,000 units of machinery.
