Ukrainian sailors saved $600,000 thanks to a new function on the “Diya” portal, which allows you to issue a proxy for obtaining qualification documents online. About this reported Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.
Previously, the registration of a power of attorney in the offline mode cost about $200, while the new service on the Diya portal is provided free of charge. In two months, 3,000 sailors used this service. Before the introduction of the online service, the process of obtaining documents was complicated and corrupt, which created additional difficulties for seafarers who are often abroad. Now the procedure has become digital, which made it possible to issue documents remotely.
“Imagine: you are constantly on flights abroad, and all the papers must be drawn up in Ukraine at the Shipping Administration, and collected in person when they are ready. We digitized this track a year ago, now you can get qualification documents online through the Diya portal. I picked up ready documents are usually a proxy, so we have digitized this process as well.Now the seafarer submits the application through the portal, and the representative receives a decision letter and a QR code on his e-mail and takes the sailor’s documents”, – said the head of the Ministry of Statistics.
The new service also simplifies the transfer of documents through representatives. Sailors can nominate a trusted person in the Action portal, and that person receives an email with a QR code for verification. This ensures safe receipt of documents at the Shipping Administration or Morrichservice without the need for notarization.
