Serbian Prime Minister resigns due to large-scale protests

Serbian Prime Minister Milos Vucevic has announced his resignation amid massive protests that have gripped the country in recent weeks. About this informs Reuters.

The Prime Minister called for calming the public mood and returning to the dialogue. He also announced that the mayor of Novi Sad, Milan Djuric, is resigning. According to Vučević, he had a long conversation with the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, who accepted his decision.

Vuchevych noted that politicians should take responsibility and help reduce social tensions. However, in his opinion, the “serious division in society” was “vilely planned from abroad.”

“Misunderstanding of each other, countless disputes and conflicts throughout Serbia. No matter how much we call for pacification of passions, they are always followed by some kind of evil. Something happened in the script. It’s as if some invisible hand created a new incident and created tension in society.” Milosh Vuchevych emphasized.

We will remind that protests in Serbia began after the collapse of a concrete canopy at the railway station in Novi Sad, which took the lives of 15 people. Students of state universities block classes and demand the publication of documents regarding the reconstruction of the station, the criminal prosecution of guilty officials and the release of detained protesters.
