Shmyhal and Slovak Prime Minister held consultations on strengthening bilateral relations

The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal held a meeting with the Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico for intergovernmental consultations, the main topic of which was the discussion of cooperation between the countries. During the first meeting, the parties signed a road map of cooperation, which covers joint infrastructure projects, economic cooperation and energy security.
In his messages in Telegram, Shmyhal noted that special attention was paid to the issue of electricity imports, where Slovakia plays an important role as a reliable partner of Ukraine. Other key topics were also discussed, such as supporting the peace plan of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi, promoting the European integration of Ukraine, demining territories and humanitarian aid.
Also on the agenda were the issues of defense procurement and the reconstruction of Ukraine after the war. Bilateral documents are expected to be signed within the framework of the “new pragmatism” policy, which aims to strengthen cooperation between Ukraine and Slovakia in key areas.
According to the Slovak publication Aktuality, consultations are taking place in the hotel complex “Verkhovyna Resort”, located 20 kilometers from Uzhhorod. The prime ministers discussed the details of the “road map”, which includes issues of energy security, infrastructure projects and economic development, as well as support for Ukraine’s accession to the European Union and cooperation in the defense sector.
We will remind that in September, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiga also met with Robert Fitso to discuss common issues and deepen cooperation between the countries.
