In Ukraine, the popularity of the Internet based on xPON is growing rapidly
In Ukraine, about 4 million users have chosen xPON technology, which provides access to the Internet even during power outages. About this reported Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Development of Education, Science and Technology, as well as Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.
“In Ukraine, about 2,000 providers provide xPON service, so if the Internet needs to work for 72 hours without electricity, then this service is relevant and important. Currently, almost 4 million Ukrainians use this technology and actively continue to connect it”, – said Fedorov.
He also reported on the interactive map of internet coverage during power outages launched by the Ministry of Digital Transformation together with LUN City a year ago. More than 500,000 people viewed the map, and 120,000 users used its functions.
According to the minister, the map covers the entire territory of Ukraine and allows you to check whether the provider is able to provide access to the Internet even in conditions of blackout for up to 72 hours.
