Shmyhal instructed to develop a plan for preparing for the next heating season

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during the meeting of the anti-crisis energy headquarters commissioned develop a preparation plan for the next heating season.
“Responsible ministries and agencies were tasked with developing a detailed plan for preparing for the heating season in the housing and communal services sector by May 15.” Shmyhal said.
Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko noted that from December 30, 2024, there will be no power cuts for household consumers in Ukraine. Restrictions on business were also minimized, and the ministry approved timetables for the restoration of the power system.
The Cabinet of Ministers reported that in 2025, about 1 GW of new generating capacity is planned to be put into operation, of which 170 MW have already been put into operation. In general, according to the Ministry of Energy, 1.5 GW of generation was restored after enemy attacks.
“It is also important to maintain rhythmic international support. The hub of emergency energy aid works. Thanks to this, 1,761 humanitarian cargoes weighing 22,600 tons from 38 countries were received. In total, 146 energy sector companies received aid. And the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine collected about 1.2 billion euros of donor fundsShmyhal emphasized.
At the headquarters meeting, special attention was paid to the cities that suffer the most from Russian shelling, in particular Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kryvyi Rih, Dnipro and other communities. The Prime Minister noted that the situation in these regions is difficult. Shmyhal also instructed to hold a meeting of the TEB and National Emergency Service on preparation for winter and to consider the possibility of using special accelerated mechanisms to restore the heat supply infrastructure.
