Shufrich wrote a statement to the SBI against the actions of the investigators, complaining about the lack of medical assistance

People’s Deputy of Ukraine of the 9th convocation, Nestor Shufrych, who is accused of high treason, filed a complaint with the State Bureau of Investigation about the actions of investigators. The reason was that, according to him, for eight months he was denied the necessary operation for two hernias, despite numerous court decisions and the order of the ECtHR, which obliged the Ukrainian government to provide proper treatment.

“I have not been operated on for eight months, and an operation that could do without manipulations, that is, a manipulator, has already become impossible. A full-fledged deep operation was performed a week ago. Two hernias were repaired… This has certain complications in connection with ensuring the work of the gastrointestinal tract. The what could have been avoided happened. We consider such actions to be torture.”, – said Shufrich.

Shufrych’s defense submitted a statement to the SBI with a demand to bring to justice the persons who, according to him, are responsible for creating dangerous conditions for his health. He also emphasized that during the numerous court hearings, the investigators ignored all court decisions requiring him to receive medical assistance.

“We wrote a statement to the SBI against the investigators, who, having seven court decisions and a note from the ECtHR, which obliged the government of Ukraine to provide my treatment, ignored it. And led to the grave consequences that you see now.”, – said Shufrych, who was standing during the meeting.

During the last session of the court, the prosecutors asked for the continuation of Shufrych’s detention, referring to the risks of concealment, influence on witnesses and distortion of evidence. At the same time, the politician’s defenders filed a motion to impeach the judge, which led to the announcement of a break.

Recently, rumors about the death of Shufrych in the pre-trial detention center spread in social networks, which were quickly refuted by lawyers. They confirmed that the politician is undergoing rehabilitation after the operation and continues to participate in court sessions, although his condition remains unsatisfactory.
