Sikorski announced the most important negotiations to end the war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine
Important negotiations regarding the war in Ukraine will be held in Warsaw next week. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Radosław Sikorski, said that he will organize a meeting in the “Weimar Triangle Plus” format, which will be of key importance in efforts to end the Russian Federation’s war against Ukraine. This is stated in the message RMF24.
The meeting will be attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of France, Jean-Noel Barro, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Annalena Berbock. Also, according to Sikorskyi, invitations were received by the new High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs Kaya Kallas, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiga and other representatives of European states.
The meeting of the foreign ministers of Germany, France and Ukraine in Warsaw was announced by Radoslav Sikorsky in Katowice, referring to the recent telephone conversation between German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Vladimir Putin. The minister noted that he discussed this issue with the Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk.
“It is good that the Chancellor of Germany reported the results of the conversation to the Polish Prime Minister almost immediately. From what we know, the Chancellor expressed a position with which Poland agrees: no decisions regarding Ukraine can be made without the participation of Ukraine itself.” – said Sikorsky.
Sikorsky was also asked about the reaction of the President of Ukraine to the conversation between Scholz and Putin. Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that such a call could “open Pandora’s box”, as other politicians may resort to similar actions in the future, which will not contribute to peace, but will only reduce Putin’s international isolation. In response to this, Sikorsky noted that he had not yet seen Zelensky’s comments, but noted that the events surrounding the war situation are “accelerating.”
He added that, in addition to the heads of foreign affairs of France and Germany, representatives of other European countries, as well as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the new EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security Kai Callas, are expected at the meeting.
“These are important negotiations regarding this crisis that will take place in Warsaw,” – he concluded.
When asked if he intended to speak directly with Putin, Sikorsky replied that he would repeat to him the same thing he had already said to the Russian representative at the UN:
“Stop lying to the world and to yourself about this war. Secondly, Russia has plenty of territory and does not need to conquer the lands of its neighbors. Putin should bring his army to the borders of Russia.” – stressed Radoslav Sikorskyi.
