Since the beginning of the year, 20,000 Ukrainians have received education vouchers from the state: Ministry of Economy

Since the beginning of 2024, more than 20,000 Ukrainians have taken advantage of the opportunity to receive state vouchers for training, which allow them to acquire new professions, improve their qualifications or acquire new skills. This initiative, supported by the government of Ukraine, is designed to increase the competitiveness of citizens in the labor market and help overcome structural unemployment. About this reported Minister of Economy Yulia Svyridenko.

According to her, the government is actively working on reskilling programs, and training vouchers are one of the key components of these efforts. More than 223 million hryvnias have already been allocated within the framework of the program, covering the costs of training for a wide range of professions, from nursing to driving.

The most popular fields of study among voucher recipients this year were nursing (3629 vouchers), psychology (3144), preschool education (861), medicine (557), cook (1775), driver (1354), tractor driver (603) and confectioner (447). . These professions meet the current needs of the labor market and allow citizens to master in-demand specialties.

Each voucher covers up to UAH 30,280 for education. If the cost of the program exceeds this amount, the employee or their employer can pay the difference. Citizens over 45 years of age, veterans, internally displaced persons, people with disabilities, as well as those who suffered from military aggression or were in captivity can receive vouchers.

This program is part of the large-scale project “Work without barriers”, which is implemented within the framework of the National Strategy for the creation of a barrier-free space in Ukraine. Vouchers can be used to study 155 different professions in IT, construction, medicine, social services and many others.

The procedure for obtaining a voucher is simple: citizens can apply application on the website of the State Employment Service or contact the nearest employment center. After receiving a voucher, a person has 90 days to conclude a contract with an educational institution that has the appropriate license.

Last year, more than 18,000 Ukrainians used vouchers for education, and the total amount of funding amounted to 252 million hryvnias. The government continues to work on increasing the number of professions for which vouchers can be obtained and on making the program even more accessible to a wide range of citizens.
