Slovak delegation is going to Russia to “restore relations”

A delegation of Slovak parliamentarians led by the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament and the leader of the Slovak National Party Andriy Dank left for Russia, continuing the initiative of Prime Minister Robert Fico. About this informs Slovak TV channel ta3.

The main purpose of the visit, according to Danko, is “restoration of relations with Russia through meetings with Russian parliamentarians and government officials.” The delegation included representatives of the ruling party, including Tibor Gaspar, Richard Glyuk, Adam Luchansky and two more deputies. Danko said that during the visit he plans to discuss the issue of nuclear fuel supply with the Russian Minister of Industry.

“To speak in the State Duma is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. It is an honor for every politician. I am proud to be among about 30 world leaders who spoke there.”, the Slovak official said.

The vice-speaker believes that parliaments should play a leading role in restoring communication after a long period of tension. He added that Prime Minister Fico’s initiative should be further developed by the parliament.

Danko also spoke about the possibility of organizing a peace summit between Russia and Ukraine in Bratislava. He called on former President Zuzana Chaputova and opposition leaders to support this initiative and invite the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to participate. According to Dank, even an international warrant for the arrest of Vladimir Putin will not be an obstacle to holding such an event.
