The Czech Republic offered Ukrainian refugees a long-term residence permit

The Czech government has offered to provide Ukrainian refugees living in the country with the opportunity to obtain a long-term residence permit instead of temporary protection. The proposal for changes to the Lex Ukraine law was made by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the country, which is referred to in his site

Conditions for obtaining a long-term permit:

  • Stay in the Czech Republic with temporary protection for at least 2 years.
  • Economic independence from the state.

The procedure for changing the status will be simple:

  • Similar to the electronic registration process for extending temporary protection.
  • The application can be submitted online.

  • Currently, 338,736 refugees from Ukraine are registered in the Czech Republic.
