In Slovakia, more than a hundred psychologists and psychiatrists have written an open letter to Prime Minister Robert Fico, expressing concern about his behavior and calling for his resignation. About this informs News.
The letter was signed by well-known specialists Josef Hasto and Anton Heretik, as well as other experts from different regions of the country. They accuse Fico of using an authoritarian style, manipulation, lying, cheating and attacking political opponents, journalists and citizens.
“You do not hesitate to attack the families of opposition leaders, as was the case with the family of opposition leader Michal Šimečka”, the appeal states.
The authors also criticize Fico’s foreign policy actions, which, in their opinion, contradict the positions of the EU and NATO, of which Slovakia is a member. The letter mentions his negative attitude towards Ukraine and its leader, as well as his attachment to Russia.
“We hope for your capacity for introspection and the possibility of correcting your political behavior, including consideration of leaving big politics.” – the signatories note.
The Slovak Chamber of Psychologists also published a similar letter warning of growing social tensions in the country. They called on politicians to be aware of their responsibility and avoid statements that could incite violence, as well as promote respect and tolerance in society.
