Scholz: Putin’s proposals regarding Ukraine were not even discussed

During this week’s Group of Seven (G7) meeting in Italy, Vladimir Putin’s proposals to end the war were not discussed. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said this.
According to the politician, firstly, the statements of the head of the Russian Federation are more related to the Peace Summit, and, secondly, Putin’s demands are “not serious” in themselves, it is “an effort to impose his vision on the world.”
We will remind you that the so-called peace plan of the Russian leader includes the refusal of Ukraine to join NATO and the refusal of the entire territory of the regions partially occupied by Russia.
“Putin proposes to document an imperialist act of robbery. We need not a dictated, but an honest and just world based on territorial integrity and sovereignty.” – noted Olaf Scholz.
The chancellor called the summit initiated by Ukraine the first real step towards peace. This will be the beginning of negotiations, even if concrete decisions cannot be reached during the conference, Scholz believes.
According to the head of the German government, representatives of the Russian Federation should be present during the next similar summit.
“During the Peace Summit in Switzerland, it is planned to lay the groundwork for the next conference. There will also be talk about Russia’s presence there.” – noted Olaf Scholz.
