SSU exposes scheme for supply of microchips for Russian missiles

The Security Service of Ukraine exposed enterprises in the Kharkiv, Chernivtsi, and Odesa regions, which during the war, bypassing international sanctions, supplied Russia with electronic components for the production of missiles and drones. About this reported SBU press office.

These companies are part of a large international corporation based in Russia that specializes in the production of unique microchips and electronic boards. They are used in the navigation and control systems of the Kh-101, Kalibr and Iskander-K missiles. Some of these components are also used in the guidance systems of kamikaze drones, Tornado-G rocket launchers, and on-board navigation of Ka-52 helicopters.

The investigation established that those involved organized a scheme for the systematic supply of electronic components from Ukraine to Russia, bypassing sanctions. The final consumers of the products were strategic state enterprises of the Russian Federation and companies that are part of the military-industrial complex of the aggressor country, in particular, SpetsTechMash joint-stock company.

During the searches, law enforcement officers seized evidence that confirms the work of the officials of these enterprises in the interests of the Kremlin. One of the participants of the scheme, who had a Russian passport, was detained. He was charged with suspicion under 3 Art. 28 and h. 1 Art. 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – assistance to the aggressor state, carried out by an organized group. For these actions, he faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.

Investigators are also preparing suspicions for other participants in the scheme. Comprehensive measures are currently underway to bring all those involved to justice.
