Combining sports and caring for pets is not easy, because animals often require time and attention, just like regular activities. However, dog owners manage to combine it, because morning runs and dog walking go well together. About 150 lovers of such a combination gathered this weekend in Kyiv’s Muromets Park.
Dog races were held as part of the “Crossfest. Spring 2024” sports festival.
The event was resumed after a forced break of several years. Until 2021, such races were an annual event, but after the outbreak of full-scale war, they were not held.
Participants of the marathon competed in two nominations – a 1-kilometer race and a 5-kilometer race. Among the participants of the competition were servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In addition to the sports direction, the festival also had a charitable component. Half of the funds collected by the organizers will be used to help Ukrainian defenders – as part of “Crossfest. Spring 2024”, a collection was announced for the needs of the 214th separate special battalion OPFOR.
