Stefanchuk reacted to Putin’s statement about his readiness to negotiate with the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada

Ukraine is ready to discuss ending the war with Russia only on its own terms. About this stated Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, commenting on Vladimir Putin’s speech.

“My position has not changed. In this war, the aggressor is the Russian Federation, and the victim is Ukraine. Only the conditions of Ukraine, as the victim of this aggression, should be the conditions on which we are ready to make peace.”, – emphasized the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada.

Earlier, during his press conference in Moscow, Vladimir Putin said that Russia is ready for negotiations and compromises to settle the situation in Ukraine. However, according to him, the Ukrainian side should show the same readiness.

Putin also suggested that the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada could sign the peace agreement, since, in his opinion, the parliament is the legitimate authority in Ukraine. In addition, the Russian leader said that the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, will become legitimate only after winning the new elections.
