Svyrydenko announced a “significant breakthrough” in negotiations between the United States and Ukraine on minerals

Yulia Svyridenko, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy stated about a “significant breakthrough” in negotiations with the US regarding a future agreement on cooperation in the field of minerals.
Svyridenko emphasized the achievement of a new positive stage in interaction with the American side within the framework of the future economic agreement, which also provides for the creation of an investment fund for the reconstruction of Ukraine.
“Our technical teams worked very thoroughly together on the agreement – there is significant progress, the lawyers made the right points in the draft agreement, thanks to the negotiators in both teams.” – said Svyridenko.
According to her, the parties agreed to consolidate the achieved progress in the form of a memorandum of intent.
“We are preparing to complete the formalization of the agreement in the near future”, – said the Deputy Prime Minister.
She also reported that negotiations are ongoing, in particular on individual points, although the main elements have already been agreed upon.
“The agreement will be subject to ratification by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, will provide an opportunity for investment and development in Ukraine, and will also provide conditions for significant economic growth of both Ukraine and the United States”, – concluded Svyridenko.
