The cost of gas for the population will not rise after the rise in the cost of its transportation: NEURC
In Ukraine, false information is being spread about the alleged increase in the price of gas for household consumers in connection with the revision of tariffs for its transportation. However, there will be no changes in gas tariffs for the public, stated The National Commission for Regulation in the Energy and Utilities Sectors (NKREKP).
“False information is being spread in the mass media. No changes in gas tariffs for the population are expected. The decision of the NCRECP to approve new tariffs for gas transportation will not affect household consumers.” – noted in the National Commission.
NKREKP approved new tariffs for the transportation of natural gas by the “Operator of the gas transportation system of Ukraine”. These tariffs apply to entry and exit points and will apply between 2025 and 2029, starting on January 1, 2025. The corresponding decision was made in connection with the termination of the transit of Russian gas through the territory of Ukraine from this date.
Yuriy Vlasenko, head of NKRECP, noted that gas and heat prices for the population remain unchanged, as they are fixed for the entire heating season. In addition, the cost of gas distribution will not change either.
“The moratorium on raising tariffs for gas and heating for the population, which has been in effect since 2022, remains in effect. Accordingly, the cost of hot water and heating will not change. Changes in the price for gas transportation are aimed exclusively at ensuring the stability of the gas transportation system of Ukraine in the new conditions. For there will be no changes for household consumers.” – explained in the NCRECP.
