Sweden will allocate the largest package of military aid to Ukraine during the war

The Ministry of Defense of Sweden announced the provision of the largest military aid package to Ukraine at the moment, worth 13.5 billion Swedish kroner (approximately $1.22 billion at the exchange rate of the Central Bank of Sweden). This assistance should strengthen the long-range capabilities of Ukrainian troops, reported on the website of the Swedish government.
In particular, about 1 billion Swedish crowns (approximately $90.7 million) will be directed to the production of long-range Ukrainian missiles and drones.
“Approximately 45% of the package, $534 million, will be used for new defense industry products for the Armed Forces. This can be directed to priority needs such as artillery, long-range strike capabilities and drones. Short delivery times are important.” – noted the Minister of Defense of Sweden, Paul Junsson.
In addition, about $250 million will be allocated to international funds, and another $178 million will be allocated to the so-called “Danish model”, which is aimed at financing the defense and industrial base of Ukraine, Yunson added.
This package has already become the 18th in a row, and the total amount of military aid from Sweden to Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia has reached 61.9 billion Swedish crowns (over $5.61 billion), the Swedish Ministry of Defense reported.
The aid includes eight main components, the largest of which is the purchase of modern equipment, produced mainly in Sweden and other European countries, for transfer to Ukraine.
The package includes 16 combat boats CB 90s of the 90s, 146 trucks, 1.5 thousand TOW anti-tank missiles, 23 naval combat weapon stations, 1 million rounds of 12.7 mm caliber, 200 units of anti-tank weapons, as well as means of personal protection against chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats.
