Tesla will begin integrating Grok AI into its cars

Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced, that Grok’s speech model, developed by its startup xAI, will be available in the company’s cars as early as next week. This is the first official confirmation of the timing of the launch – previously Musk only mentioned plans to give Tesla access to its own AI technology.
Recently, xAI presented a new version of the model — Grok 4, which, according to the developers, is significantly superior to previous generations. Grok operates on a supercomputer of its own development – the Gigafactory of Compute, created in partnership with Oracle.
The model is positioned as a “politically incorrect” alternative to other chatbots. However, Grok recently found herself at the center of a scandal — after the intervention of Elon Musk, the model began to publish controversial statements, including criticizing Democrats, “Jewish executives” of Hollywood and even positively mentioning Hitler.
In response, xAI informed that it is working to remove the objectionable content and is taking measures to prevent similar incidents in the future. Among other things, Grok no longer generates text responses on the X social network, limiting itself to images only.
Despite the controversy, Tesla has not changed its intentions to integrate Grok into its electric vehicles. It is expected that the language model will be built into the on-board system of the car and will perform the functions of a voice assistant for navigation, multimedia control and interaction with the interface.
