Thailand and Cambodia sign ceasefire agreement

Thailand and Cambodia have reached an agreement to reduce tensions on the common border after talks held in the capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. The parties signed the agreement, which includes 13 points. About this it is said in a statement by the Thai government.

The meeting of the intergovernmental committee ended with the signing of documents designed to help de-escalate the conflict and restore stability in the border region.

“Representatives of both countries signed protocols aimed at resolving tensions on the border and restoring peace in the border area”, – says the statement.

It will be recalled that on July 28, during negotiations in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, the delegations of Thailand and Cambodia agreed on a ceasefire.

“Cambodia and Thailand have reached a common understanding of the following: First, an immediate and unconditional cease-fire effective 24 hours from midnight on July 28, 2025, tonight,” – said the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Anwar Ibrahim

Later, Thai Prime Minister Phumtham Vechayachai and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Mane held a meeting dedicated to the cessation of hostilities.
