The agreement on fossils between Ukraine and the United States is only the beginning of the process: the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The agreement on minerals between Ukraine and the USA is only the first step in the process of cooperation, and not the final agreement. About this stated the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Heorhiy Tykhy, during the briefing.
Tykhi noted that this framework agreement will become the basis for further agreements and documents. According to him, the document provides for the creation of a joint fund of Ukraine and the USA for investment in reconstruction, which will be filled and used exclusively in Ukraine.
Tychy emphasized that after revisions, the text of the agreement became much better and acceptable for signing. He emphasized that references to Ukraine’s debt for previous aid were removed from the document, as well as the clause on reimbursement of future aid under the “$2 for $1” scheme.
We will remind that on February 25, Ukraine and the United States agreed on the terms of the agreement on the development of rare earth minerals, oil and gas. In the process of discussion, Washington waived the requirement to own $500 billion in potential revenue from resource development.
