An An-124-100 “Ruslan” aircraft with the flight number UR-82073 belonging to the Antonov Airlines airline flew from Kyiv to Leipzig – that is where the company’s fleet is currently located. About this reported Fedir Hryschuk, airworthiness inspector of the State Aviation Service.

“I sincerely congratulate my colleagues and aviation enthusiasts. The aircraft An-124-100 UR-82073 is already in Leipzig. And although the thorny path of certification tests is still ahead, there is hope to see it in the sky of Ukraine. With new engines, new avionics, with extended conditions of use.”, says the message.

We will remind you that from February 24, 2022, after the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, the sky over Ukraine is officially closed to civil aviation. During this time, only a few passenger and cargo planes that remained in “Boryspil” and “Lviv” managed to leave the country.

“Antonov Airlines” was established in 1989. According to official information on the company’s website, its aircraft fleet consists of one An-225 “Mriya”, seven An-124-100 “Ruslan” cargo planes, as well as one An-22 “Antey”, one An-26 and one An-74T.

After the invasion, according to Ukroboronprom, the base of the Antonov company in Gostomel was destroyed as a result of hostilities, and the infrastructure in Svyatoshyn was significantly damaged. An-26, An-74 and the legendary “Mriya” were among the losses, while one of the An-124 aircraft was also damaged. Five more “Ruslan” type boats managed to be taken out of Ukraine.
