The Armed Forces of Ukraine about Kharkiv Region: Lyptsi is almost destroyed, and the border area is turning into a second Vovchansk
During a national telethon, the spokesman of the United Tactical Group “Kharkiv” Vitaly Sarantsev talked about the situation in settlements on the border territories of Kharkiv region, as well as about the tactics and goals of Russian troops in this direction.
Sarantsev emphasized that most settlements near the border with Russia are in a state similar to Vovchansk, where intense hostilities continue.
“Unfortunately, the picture of the entire border area is not much different from Vovchansk. So, in Vovchansk, the most intensive combat operations are taking place with the use of a really wide range of weapons – starting with tactical aviation, which uses the heaviest, most destructive anti-aircraft missiles. So it is with the rest of the settlements. In particular, this is the settlement of Liptsi – almost destroyed, almost erased from the face of the earth. It is also a settlement of Hlyboke. In addition, the enemy is shelling Kozacha Lopan and other settlements along the Ukrainian border.”, – said Sarantsev.
He also emphasized that the enemy’s tactics show complete indifference to settlements and the civilian population.
“The enemy acts indiscriminately. He does not have any military strategy in carrying out these attacks. That is, the main idea is to destabilize the situation, to sow panic and distrust in civilians towards the military-political leadership of the country and the Armed Forces. To intimidate the population and continue their tactics of panic and fear”, – explained the press secretary of OTUV “Kharkiv”.
As for the military goals, Sarantsev noted that in the Vovchansk direction, the occupiers seek to expand control, force the Vovcha River and move to the rear of the Ukrainian forces in the Kupyansk direction. Near Kharkov, their goal is to advance towards Lyptsi, with a further offensive, if circumstances permit. However, according to Sarantsev, none of these plans were implemented.
“The enemy has been stopped at those positions where his advance was stopped at the beginning of this Kharkiv campaign”, he emphasized.
According to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, since the beginning of the Russian offensive in the Kharkiv direction in May 2024, the losses of the Russian army amounted to more than 10 thousand servicemen.
