The Armed Forces of Ukraine are preparing motivational contracts for 18-25-year-old boys

Men aged 18 to 25 who do not yet fall under the officially established mobilization age, are planning to encourage voluntary entry into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine through the introduction of a system of motivational contracts. Currently, the terms of such contracts are being developed by the Ministry of Defense.

According to preliminary data, young men will be offered to sign a contract for one year. It will include a one-and-a-half-month basic general military training, which they will undergo in training centers.

A number of financial and social incentives are provided to attract volunteers. In particular, at the beginning of the service, they will receive significant “increasing” payments, which, according to preliminary estimates, may amount to 500 thousand hryvnias.

In addition, combat payments and an extended social package are provided. It includes free post-service postsecondary education, soft loans, and other benefits. To implement this initiative, it is necessary for the Verkhovna Rada to amend at least six existing laws.

We will remind that from January 1, 2025, in Ukraine, according to the so-called “mobilization” law, conscription will be abolished. Instead, young people who have not reached the age of mobilization will be required to undergo basic military service for six months or basic combined military training. Students will be able to get it at the military departments of their universities.
