The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, together with a Ukrainian manufacturer, has started testing a new control point for units equipped with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). About this reported press service of the Ministry of Defense.
High requirements are placed on the control point, including maximum autonomy, modern means of communication and electronic warfare (EW). The new equipment should provide effective control of drone units in any weather conditions, both in stationary mode and during movement.
The cabin will be equipped with automated workplaces with interactive panels, which will allow commanders to quickly analyze the situation and make decisions, increasing the effectiveness of the use of units.
The base for this innovative control point will be a specialized off-road vehicle. A four-wheel drive car will provide the necessary maneuverability and the ability to overcome off-road conditions. The project is implemented under the supervision of the Main Department of Defense Innovations of the Ministry of Defense.
“Unmanned units have grown significantly and require specialized means of combat control. Domestic gunsmiths offered a technical solution to this request. The new model of equipment will be tested and will be evaluated by the commanders of combat units. If the development meets the requirements, we will codify it and it will be able to go into serial production. We have to technologically surpass the enemy.” – noted the First Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk.
