The BEB Director Selection Commission re-submitted Tsyvinsky’s candidacy to the Cabinet of Ministers
The commission for the selection of the director of the Bureau of Economic Security resubmitted documents to the Cabinet of Ministers regarding the appointment of the winner of the competition — Oleksandr Tsyvinskyi. About this reported press service of the commission.
“After the meeting, the Competition Commission sent the scanned materials regarding the winner of the competition back to the Cabinet of Ministers. The originals of these documents were sent to the Cabinet of Ministers on July 21”, says the official message.
Oleksandr Tsyvinskyi thanked the Competition Commission “for the principled position and provided information” and confirmed that the documents have already been submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers.
“I am waiting for the legal and considered position of the government and the newly appointed Prime Minister Yulia Svyridenko”, he declared.
Tsyvinskyi also made public his requests to the Cabinet of Ministers regarding the reasons for his non-appointment to the post of BEB director, as well as official responses, which, he said, do not contain “any information about the existence of security risks.”
“This means only one thing – they do not exist. If there are no objective obstacles – it is necessary to comply with the law and appoint the winner of the competition.” he remarked.
Tsyvinskyi also indicated that he currently heads the detective unit of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau. So far, NABU has not received any letters from the SBU or the government that would contain information about “security risks” regarding him to initiate an official investigation.
It will be recalled that on July 7, the government decided not to appoint Oleksandr Tsyvinskyi to the post of director of the Bureau of Economic Security. The Cabinet of Ministers believes that Tsyvinskyi’s candidacy does not fully meet all the requirements for the head of the BEB. At the same time, the government emphasized that the adopted decision is legitimate and implemented in accordance with the provisions of the Law of Ukraine “On the Bureau of Economic Security”.
