The best teacher of the year in Ukraine received UAH 1 million to develop her own project

Lesya Pavlyuk, a primary school teacher from Ivano-Frankivsk, became the winner of the prestigious Global Teacher Prize Ukraine 2024. She was recognized as the best teacher in the country, for which she received a monetary award of 1 million hryvnias for the implementation of her own educational project, as well as the opportunity to represent Ukraine at international level in the competition for teachers.
As informs “Osvitoriya”, Lesya Pavlyuk became one of the first at Lyceum No. 7 in Ivano-Frankivsk, who started working with inclusive classes, actively developing methodical manuals and courses for other teachers. She not only teaches students in the classroom, but also organizes creative and charitable events outside of class, in particular, in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
During the award ceremony, Pavliuk emphasized the importance of teachers’ work in shaping the country’s future:
“We, the teachers, are doing what will happen in the future. I sincerely believe that our students in the future will make our country Ukraine the one we dream of, the one they dream of. We form values that will become the torches of their life”, she said.
The organizers noted that for the first time in the history of the award, the opinions of the expert jury coincided with the votes of Ukrainians, which emphasizes the unanimous support for the choice of the winner.
