The British Prime Minister reacted to Farage’s scandalous statement about the Russian Federation’s war against Ukraine: details

Today, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak categorically denied the statements of the leader of the Eurosceptic Reform UK party, Nigel Farage, that the West provoked Vladimir Putin to start a full-scale war against Ukraine.

According to BBC Sunak named Farage’s words “absolutely wrong” and noted that they only play into Putin’s hands.

Responding to Farage’s statements last night, Sunak emphasized that attempts to blame Russia’s aggression on the West are dangerous and only strengthen Putin. He also criticized Farage for his past statements, including his recognition of Putin as an effective political operator who controls Russia.

Farage said he did not like Putin as a person, but admired his political skill as he managed to gain control over the governance of Russia. He also claimed that he had been warning since the 1990s about the “continuous eastward expansion” of NATO and the EU, which, in his opinion, could give Putin a pretext for war.

In response to these remarks, British Home Secretary James Cleverley believes that Farage is repeating Putin’s vile justification for his invasion of Ukraine. Labor spokesman John Healy said the comments made Farage “unfit for any political office”, while former NATO Secretary General George Robertson accused him of “repeating the Kremlin’s line”.
