Trump signs executive order banning transgender athletes from women’s sports

US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order banning transgender men from competing in women’s sports. About this informs “Voice of America”.

“The administration will protect the proud traditions of women athletes and we will not allow men to beat, injure and deceive our women and our girls. From now on, women’s sports will be women’s only.”, – said Trump before signing the decree.

He criticized the previous administration’s gender policies, calling them “militant transgender ideology” and pointed out that “men posing as girls stole over 3,500 wins” and “invaded over 11,000 competitions meant for women.”

“But all this ends today. Because with this decree, the war on women’s sports has ended”, – concluded the US president.

On the eve of the signing, White House spokeswoman Caroline Levitt emphasized that the new rules will affect the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles:

“The president truly expects the Olympic Committee and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) to no longer allow men to compete in women’s sports.”.

She also added that Trump plans to meet with women “who were affected by the fact that such a decision was not made in the country earlier.”

According to the executive order, the new rules take effect immediately, and failure to comply could result in the termination of federal funding for any school that allows transgender women or girls to compete in women’s divisions.
