The Cabinet of Ministers allocated UAH 113 million for consulting services in the preparation of the mineral agreement

Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine singled out 113 million hryvnias for consulting services for the preparation of a draft agreement with the US on minerals, and also instructed to immediately engage relevant consultants.

“In order to protect the national interests of Ukraine and form the position of Ukraine, taking into account the specifics of the legislation of the United States of America and Ukraine, during the preparation of the agreed position of Ukraine regarding the process of negotiations with the American side to conclude an agreement on the creation of the Reconstruction Investment Fund, allocate 113,005 thousand hryvnias from the reserve fund of the state budget for the implementation of measures related to the provision of consulting services for the preparation of the project of the specified agreement”, – it is stated in the order of the government.

59 million hryvnias were allocated to the Ministry of Economy, and 54 million hryvnias to the Ministry of Justice. The government also obliged the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Justice by April 15 to ensure the involvement of consultants who have experience in providing consulting services to the Government of Ukraine in the field of public debt management and foreign borrowing, as well as representatives of leading international legal companies to participate in the preparation of Ukraine’s negotiating position regarding the future Agreement on the Creation of the Reconstruction Investment Fund.

We will remind you that on April 6, First Vice Prime Minister – Minister of Economy Yulia Svyridenko announced that this week Ukraine will send a delegation to Washington to continue negotiations on the conclusion of a strategic agreement with the United States on the distribution of critical natural resources. According to her, Ukraine has not yet decided on a legal company that will work on the preparation of the agreement, but plans to do so within the current week.
