The military serviceman who was exposed by the SBI for selling cars donated to the Armed Forces by a charity fund will be tried
The State Bureau of Investigation completed the investigation and referred to the court the case of a serviceman who tried to sell three cars received as humanitarian aid for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the materials investigation, one of the charitable funds abroad handed Ukraine three vehicles intended for the needs of the Ukrainian army.
The accused, who was supposed to deliver the cars to his unit, instead put them up for sale on the Internet. He planned to charge 13.6 thousand US dollars for these three vehicles.
In February 2024, employees of the SBI detained a serviceman while receiving 13.6 thousand US dollars from a buyer for cars.
He is charged with illegal use for the purpose of obtaining humanitarian aid benefits (Part 3 of Article 201-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Under this article, punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to 7 years with confiscation of property is provided.
