Oleksandr Alfyorov is a Ukrainian historian, military and public figure, television and radio host, and the author of a popular YouTube channel with almost half a million subscribers. Since 2010, he worked as a researcher at the Institute of History of Ukraine of the National Academy of Sciences. He is the author, co-author and editor of 15 books and more than 100 scientific publications.

After the start of the full-scale war, Alfyorov joined the Special Operations Forces as an officer of the Azov-Kyiv unit. Since September 2022, he has been serving in the 3rd separate assault brigade, where he holds the position of head of the group of humanitarian training and information support in the department of psychological support of personnel. Has the rank of reserve major. He also headed the expert group on de-Russification in Kyiv.

We will remind you that on December 13, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to dismiss Anton Drobovych from the position of the head of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance. Drobovych said that he does not plan to apply for re-appointment. According to him, in the future he will focus on researching and documenting the crimes committed by the Russian Federation against Ukrainian cultural heritage during the war.
