The Cabinet of Ministers approved an additional distribution of subventions for school buses

The Cabinet of Ministers made a decision on the additional distribution of subventions to local budgets for the purchase of school buses. Funding will be provided to ten areas that primarily need fleet renewal. About this reported in the Ministry of Education and Science.

The total amount of the subvention is 273.7 million hryvnias. These funds will allow communities to purchase new school buses, including specially equipped ones for transporting children with special educational needs. Purchases will be made under the conditions of co-financing with local budgets, as well as through the Prozorro Market system, which should speed up the procedures.

Among the regions that will receive new transport are Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy and Chernihiv regions.

In 2025, the state provided 1.6 billion hryvnias for subvention for the purchase of school transport, while last year this amount was 1 billion hryvnias. At the same time, despite the increase in funding, in a number of regions the funds are still not sufficient to fully cover transport needs, in particular, to ensure transportation of students from remote villages to schools.
