The Times reported on the fall in popularity of Volodymyr Zelenskyy after almost three years of war
Almost three years after the start of the war, the popularity of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, is declining, and many Ukrainians do not see him as the next leader of the state. About this reported edition of The Times.
According to the results of a survey conducted by the Center for Social Monitoring in Kyiv, only 16% of respondents are ready to support Zelensky for a second presidential term. At the same time, about 60% of respondents believe that he should not re-nominate his candidacy.
“It’s very difficult to be a popular president when you’ve already had a full-scale war going on for three years. People are tired and almost everyone has someone they lost. This is a huge challenge for Zelenskyi”, – said MP Oleksandra Ustinova.
The leader of the survey was Valery Zaluzhnyi, the former commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who currently holds the position of ambassador to Great Britain. His support among respondents is 27%, which is significantly ahead of Zelenskyi’s figures.
“Zaluzhny, who was fired by Zelensky in February after rumors of disagreements over the conduct of the war, is also the most trusted figure in Ukraine, according to the survey. Although he has not yet openly declared any political ambitions, his appointment to a diplomatic post in London was seen by many analysts as an attempt by Zelensky to push him into the background.”, the message reads.
