The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine made changes to the Regulations on the Certification of Pedagogical Workers. About this reported Ministry of Education and Science.
“The purpose of the certification is to identify and encourage teachers with a high level of mastery who possess teaching methods and spread them among colleagues. Those teachers who have successfully passed the certification receive a 20% bonus for three years and are also entitled to have the certification counted as an attestation.
In addition, successful completion of the certification is the basis for assigning a qualification category and/or a teaching title. As before, participation in certification is voluntary”, says the message.
The new edition takes into account the suggestions of certification participants and experts, which allows to improve the procedure. In particular, it is now possible to challenge the results of the study of practical experience, and the conditions of validity of the certificate, which affects the calculation of surcharges, have also been clarified.
As noted in the Ministry of Education and Culture, the provision will enter into force on September 1, until then projects will be developed regarding the procedure for registration and the appeals commission at the State Education Quality Service. Teachers will be able to participate in the certification, provided that there is a teaching load of at least 0.25 rates in the discipline in which they plan to undergo certification.
The right of teachers who stopped participating in certification at any of the stages to retake it the following year is also provided for. If the participants do not agree with the experts’ conclusions regarding their practical experience, they will be able to file an appeal within three calendar days after receiving the results.
