The Cabinet of Ministers has introduced a record of cars imported as humanitarian aid for the military

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to introduce state registration of vehicles imported as humanitarian aid for the military. Under the new procedure, a number of rules have been introduced to regulate this process.

The decision was announced by MP Oleksiy Honcharenko on his Telegram channel.

According to the Cabinet of Ministers’ decision, the registration process involves the following steps

  • submission of an application to the service centres of the Ministry of Internal Affairs together with the car transfer and acceptance certificate, a declaration of humanitarian goods and the documents of the serviceman;
  • issuance of a temporary technical ticket for such vehicles;
  • re-registration of the car in accordance with the act of transfer to the military;
  • transfer of cars to military units recognised as humanitarian aid after the end of martial law.

Against the backdrop of the new rules, there have been numerous cases of arson attacks on military and volunteer vehicles in Ukraine recently. As of the end of October, 266 such cases have been registered since the beginning of the year. In this regard, Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets proposed to increase liability for arson attacks aimed at damaging military support for the country.
