The President held a meeting of the Stavka in Kharkiv
On Thursday, May 16, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi held an external meeting of the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, dedicated to the main challenges at the front, including the situation in the Kharkiv region.

The President listened to the reports of Chief Committee Oleksandr Syrskyi, commanders of “Khortytsia” OSUV Yury Sodol and OTU “Kharkiv” Mykhailo Drapatoy regarding the situation in Kharkiv region.
“The operational situation, tasks and needs of each involved brigade, each unit, in particular in the Kharkiv Region, in the Vovchansk and Lyptsi districts. They also analyzed in detail the prospects of the combat situation, threats in the coming days and weeks, and our, Ukrainian, opportunities to counter Russian offensive plans.”, the message says.
According to Zelenskyi, the situation in Kharkiv region is currently under control, the Defense Forces are inflicting significant losses on the occupiers.
“But the direction remains extremely difficult – we are strengthening our units. The heads of the GUR and SZR reported on the intentions of the occupier, the head of the SBU – on countersubversive measures. A plan of further actions has been determined – both for the regional authorities of the Kharkiv region and for all structures responsible for security in the region“, Zelensky added.
The head of state also listened to the reports of heads of regional authorities from other border and frontline regions.
