The Cabinet of Ministers initiates the recruitment of foreigners for officer positions in the Defense Forces

The government has approved a draft law that proposes to allow foreigners and stateless persons to hold officer positions in the Defense Forces of Ukraine. About this reported representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk.
The draft law “On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine Regarding the Order of Contract Military Service by Foreigners and Stateless Persons in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the State Special Transport Service and the National Guard of Ukraine” provides for the possibility of appointing foreigners and stateless persons to officer positions in these structures. This will allow attracting specialists from abroad to strengthen the country’s defense capabilities.
In addition, the draft law proposes to amend the Law “On Intelligence” so that foreigners and stateless persons can join the service in the intelligence agencies of the Ministry of Defense before the end of the special period in the state.
Another important aspect is the simplification of entry and exit procedures from Ukraine for foreigners and stateless persons serving in the Armed Forces, the National Guard and the State Special Service of Transport. Now it will be possible to do this on the basis of a passport and a military registration document (service card).
It is also worth noting that the government has amended the Procedure for Mobilization of Citizens Caring for Sick or Disabled Persons to ensure a fair mobilization process.
Among other news, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that Ukrainian military personnel participating in battles in the Kursk region will receive awards quickly and without bureaucratic delays.
