The Cabinet of Ministers proposes to the Verkhovna Rada to abolish liability for violation of requirements for practicing traditional medicine

The Cabinet of Ministers proposed to the Verkhovna Rada to abolish administrative responsibility for violating the requirements for the practice of folk medicine (healing). The representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk, reported about the relevant decision, adopted during the government meeting.
It is about the agreed project of the law “On Amendments to the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses Regarding the Simplification of the Conditions of Conducting Business Activities.”
The draft law provides for the abolition of liability for violation of the established requirements for practicing traditional medicine, as well as for violation of the procedure for carrying out activities related to artificial changes in the atmospheric state for economic purposes – taking into account the fact that permits for such activities are no longer required.
In addition, the document proposes to review approaches to administrative responsibility in the field of cultural heritage protection — in particular, in connection with the cancellation of permits for changing the purpose of monuments, their constituent parts and elements, as well as for the execution of inscriptions or markings on cultural heritage objects, their territory or in protected zones.
We will remind you that in 2018 the Ministry of Health took the initiative to cancel the requirement to obtain a special permit to practice folk medicine. According to the Ministry of Health, in order to verify the safety and effectiveness of alternative treatment methods, it is necessary to conduct scientific and clinical studies according to established standards. Conducting such research usually takes a lot of time, requires significant funding and the involvement of a wide range of specialists. None of the methods of folk medicine are subject to operational evaluation during the application for a permit.
