The Ministry of Defense will create the first mental center for the military on the basis of an elite complex near Kyiv

Ministry of Defense of Ukraine will create the first mental health center for military personnel on the basis of an elite hunting and fishing complex in the Kyiv region. Previously, this territory with real estate objects was returned to state ownership after a long court case.
The complex, previously closed to the public and used by dignitaries, politicians and businessmen for recreation, will now be used by the military. It was transferred to the National Military Medical Clinical Center “Main Military Clinical Hospital”.
The newly created center will deal with the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder, depressive and anxiety states, and will also promote the adaptation of veterans to a peaceful life through a combination of physical and psychological rehabilitation.
“This story shows how state assets can be used for the benefit of society. What was once a symbol of privilege and secrecy will now become a center of help for those who gave their health for the sake of Ukraine. And it is precisely such initiatives that form a truly socially responsible country.” – noted Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Brigadier General of Justice Serhiy Melnyk.
In order for the center to function, it is necessary to carry out capital repairs of buildings that were abandoned, as well as to attract specialists – psychologists, psychiatrists, rehabilitators and other medical personnel. In the past, land and buildings were illegally removed from state ownership. In different years, the object passed into the hands of persons close to the authorities.
On April 15, 2025, the Supreme Court finally decided to return this property to the state and transfer it to the Ministry of Defense. The implementation of the center creation project is of great importance for the implementation of systematic support for military personnel who need psychological help after their service.
