The Czech Republic will provide Ukraine with 400 thousand shells by the end of April

Ukraine will receive 400,000 units of ammunition from the Czech Republic by the end of April, and financing for new purchases is secured until the fall. About this informs CNN Prima News.

“By the end of April, we will hand over 400,000 units of large-caliber ammunition to Ukraine,” – said Minister of Defense of the Czech Republic Yana Chernokhova.

The official also emphasized that funding for subsequent purchases is guaranteed until the fall, but refrained from making predictions about the possibility of exceeding last year’s supplies.

“We will transfer as much (ammunition) as we can find around the world”, – noted Chernokhova, adding that there is a potential to purchase about 1.5 million ammunition, but everything depends on the availability of funding.

According to her, it will depend on the donors whether it will be possible to collect enough funds for the implementation of the initiative and the quick delivery of ammunition to Ukraine. On April 27, Chernokhova announced that other countries are joining the initiative, and mentioned negotiations with Belgium, which also promised to provide support to Ukraine with ammunition.

We will remind that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Jan Lipavsky, announced at the beginning of April that additional financial contributions for the initiative came from Canada, Norway, Denmark and the Netherlands.
