The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine warns of preparations for provocative rallies in Ukrainian cities
Russian special services have stepped up efforts to organize paid rallies in Ukraine, looking for Ukrainians in the Telegram messenger who are ready to participate in actions aimed at discrediting the country’s military and political leadership for money. According to the GUR, anonymous Telegram accounts recruit people who agree to take part in fake “rallies” for a financial reward. The purpose of such actions is to create a visual “picture” for distribution in the media to discredit the Ukrainian authorities and sow discord among the population.
In particular, these rallies are aimed at undermining trust in Ukrainian special services and the country’s military-political leadership. Participants in provocative actions are asked to take photos and videos, which will then be used for propaganda to increase tension in society.
GUR also informs that such actions are planned to be organized in Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipro and other regional centers. Military intelligence urges Ukrainians not to take part in these dangerous activities, because it can not only undermine national security, but also contribute to the destabilization of the situation in the country.
