The Deposit Guarantee Fund put a number of banking institutions up for sale

The Fund for Guaranteeing Deposits of Individuals (FGVFO) has once again put up for auction the rights and claims under the loan agreements of the “Finance and Credit” bank. Auction which planned on October 8, 2024, will be held according to the Dutch model. The claims relate to 10 credit agreements concluded with enterprises. The initial value of the lot is 2.37 billion hryvnias, but a significant part of the assets is pledged by the National Bank of Ukraine.
Among the pledged property related to credit obligations, the following are distinguished:
- property complex in Lviv with a total area of 36.8 thousand square meters, which is used for pharmaceutical production.
- commercial real estate in Kyiv, in particular premises on the street Saksaganskyi and on Beresteyskyi Avenue.
- land plots in the Kyiv region with a total area of 23.7 hectares.
In addition, on October 3, 2024, the Prozorro.Sales system will host an auction for the sale of Ukrbudinvestbank’s assets, which will also be liquidated by the Deposit Guarantee Fund. The lot includes claims under credit agreements and receivables. A hotel complex in Transcarpathia (Polyana village) with a total area of 341.9 sq.m., consisting of several cottages, is held as collateral for these assets. The initial price of this lot is UAH 48.7 million, which corresponds to the total debt on assets.
The FGVFO emphasizes that it is not the property itself that is put up for sale, but the right to demand the return of debts or the collection of collateral in a judicial or extrajudicial manner. Both legal entities and individuals can participate in the auction, with the exception of representatives of the Russian Federation and persons associated with the aggressor state.
The previous auctions, which were held according to the English model, did not bring results, and the assets did not find their buyer. Therefore, the FGVFO is now resorting to the Dutch auction model, hoping for a more successful result.
