The draft law on demobilization is ready, but it will not yet be submitted to the parliament

The government has prepared a draft law on demobilization, but it will not yet be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada for consideration. About this reported people’s deputy Oleksiy Goncharenko after asking the relevant question during the question hour to the government in the parliament.

“The draft law is practically developed and ready to be issued and submitted to the Verkhovna Rada through the Cabinet of Ministers”, – said First Deputy Minister of Defense Ivan Gavryliuk.

He noted that the draft law will not be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada until the Ukrainian army has enough reserves to replace demobilized servicemen.

“Until we prepare reserves of military personnel to replace those who are currently fighting on the frontline, it is almost impossible to do this, because it will lead to the loss of the state.” – emphasized Gavrylyuk.

We will remind you that in November, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence unanimously supported draft law No. 11531. This document allows military personnel to be discharged from service if their half-brothers or sisters are killed or missing in action. The adoption of this draft law will be an important step in supporting the families of Ukrainian defenders.
