There is no need to increase electricity tariffs to UAH 6: people’s deputy

In 2025, there is no need to increase the electricity tariff, and the current level of UAH 4.32/kWh is quite sufficient. About this stated Serhii Nagornyak, head of the subcommittee on energy saving and energy efficiency of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Energy and Utilities during the broadcast of the telethon.
“There is absolutely no need to raise the electricity tariff to UAH 6, or to UAH 6.30 this year. I believe that the government must make a decision and extend the tariff of UAH 4 32 kopecks until the end of the year, or even until the end of the year heating season from 2025 to 2026”, Nagornyak noted.
In his opinion, the current tariff fully covers the needs, despite the statement about the need for additional funds to restore the energy infrastructure.
“They are a little different, this money goes to other needs. Therefore, there is no need to raise the tariff.” – added the people’s deputy.
We will remind that in May 2024, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to increase the electricity tariff to UAH 4.32/kWh for household consumers. This tariff remains valid for one year, until May 2025.
