“The new eKonoply service will contribute to the development of this industry, because the application of industrial hemp is extremely wide – from the light and food industry to the pulp and paper industry. Hemp is a high-margin niche crop that has wide opportunities for processing.”, – explained the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Vitaly Koval.
The ministry noted that the implementation of this system will ensure the transparency of the industrial hemp market, which will contribute to the growth of the number of enterprises engaged in its sowing, cultivation and processing both in the domestic and foreign markets. In addition, it will allow to form objective statistical and analytical data.
Legal entities engaged in sowing, growing and processing hemp for industrial purposes will have access to such system modules as: registration of business entities in the field of industrial hemp, land management, modules for sowing and harvesting, laboratory research, extracts and reporting, as well as an interactive map.
The ministry noted that the activity of legal entities is significantly simplified. Previously, obtaining a license for the production of industrial hemp could take up to three months. According to the order of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy dated August 16, 2024, it is enough to register in the Register of legal entities engaged in sowing, growing and processing hemp, without the need to obtain additional licenses or quotas.
For registration, it is necessary to prepare a qualified electronic signature (KEP) and submit an application through electronic office “eKonoply” system.
