The EU has agreed on the 16th package of sanctions against Russia

On February 19, the European Union adopted the 16th package of sanctions against Russia. The new restrictions were approved at a meeting of EU foreign ministers. About this informs Rikard Jozwiak, Brussels correspondent of “Radio Liberty”.
“EU ambassadors have just agreed a new package of sanctions against Russia. The 16th since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine three years ago”. – the message says.
Sanctions include a ban on the import of primary aluminum. Separate sanctions are also being introduced against 73 vessels of the so-called shadow tanker fleet. The new sanctions package will be officially announced next Monday, February 24, the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
We will remind that earlier Poland, together with a group of Scandinavian and Baltic countries, presented its proposals regarding the 16th package of sanctions. In particular, the countries demanded the introduction of restrictions against the import of Russian gas.
