The Holy Fire descended in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem (video)

On Saturday, April 19, at approximately 2:35 p.m. Kyiv time, one of the most anticipated pre-Easter miracles took place in the very heart of the Christian world — in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem. In Kuvuklia, a small marble chapel built over the place where, according to the Gospel, Jesus Christ was buried, the Blessed Fire descended.
This annual event is not just a ceremony – for millions of believers, it embodies the spiritual essence of Easter, symbolizing the light of the Resurrection and the victory of life over death. According to tradition, the fire appears by itself – without the help of matches, lighters or any technical means. Christians consider its descent as a sign of God’s presence and mercy to humanity.
The fire is kept in the temple all year round, but on the eve of Great Saturday it goes out and reappears only during this sacred moment. If the Graceful Fire did not descend, it could be perceived as an apocalyptic sign — a harbinger of the Second Coming and the end of the world.
Immediately after the descent, the flame is passed to the faithful, who light their candles and lamps. Subsequently, the fire goes to dozens of countries, including Ukraine. It is with him that believers meet the bright Easter. Delivery to Ukrainian churches usually takes place at night or in the morning on Easter, although the exact time of arrival may vary each year.
All stages of the ceremony are accompanied by special prayers, in an atmosphere of expectation of a miracle. The temple at these hours is filled with pilgrims, clergy and representatives of various denominations. The fire of grace, like every year, becomes a living testimony for millions of Christians all over the world that light will overcome darkness and faith will overcome death.
