Estonia handed over a power unit for a power plant to Ukraine

Estonia transferred to Ukraine one of the power units of the Auvers power plant, which will be able to provide electricity to about 150,000 people. For this informs Ministry of Energy of Ukraine
The transfer of the power unit took place as part of the agreements between the Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Mykola Kolisnyk and the Prime Minister of Estonia Kristen Michal.
The power unit was dismantled at the Estonian GRES in the village of Auvere, located 20 km from Narva. This power plant, built between 1963 and 1973, was decommissioned earlier. In May 2024, it was decided to dismantle one of the blocks for transfer to Ukraine.
Andres Vainola, a member of the board of Eesti Energia, said that the power unit was disassembled into large component parts, similar to a “Lego” constructor, which allows for efficient transportation of equipment to Ukraine.
According to Eesti Energia, two of the eight power units of the Auvers Power Plant are ready for transfer to Ukraine. Others are used to provide spare parts. It is also planned that two more power units may be transferred in 2025.
